MALOKA SABERES ANCESTRALES

AYAHUASCA RETREATS AND CEREMONIES

Maloka Saberes Ancestrales: A Sanctuary of Healing in the Putumayo Rainforest

Located in the heart of the Villagarzón jungle in Putumayo, Maloka Saberes Ancestrales is a sacred space where Ayahuasca (also known as Yagé) ceremonies and retreats take place.

Here, the power of Mother Earth, the ancestral knowledge of the Taitas (shamans), and the wisdom of this sacred medicine—used for millennia by the Indigenous peoples of the Amazon—come together.

More than just a destination, Maloka Saberes Ancestrales is a gathering place where people from all over Colombia and the world come together during the year to embark on a profound journey of healing, transformation, and spiritual connection.

A Deep Connection Experience with Nature

At Maloka Saberes Ancestrales, you will immerse yourself in an environment of peace and harmony, where the Putumayo rainforest surrounds you with its healing energy. From the moment you arrive, you will feel a profound disconnection from daily routines, embraced by the sounds of nature and the presence of the animals that inhabit the land.

The space is bordered by a beautiful, easily accessible river—perfect for cooling off on warm days and complementing the healing process with the purity of water. Additionally, there is no internet access, allowing you to fully focus on your purpose and personal transformation.

Comforts for a Harmonious Stay

In addition to the Maloka, where the Ayahuasca ceremonies take place, the retreat offers:

- Equipped restrooms for attendees' comfort.

- A spacious resting area, ideal for hanging hammocks or setting up tents.

-A communal dining area, where meals are prepared following the recommended diet for the experience.

Every corner of Maloka Saberes Ancestrales is designed to provide a safe, natural, and nurturing environment for introspection and healing.

A Dedicated Team for Your Well-being and Healing

In addition to our guides, Taita Robert Ramos and Maima Alexandra Aricapa, each retreat at Maloka Saberes Ancestrales is supported by an exceptional team of men and women who have walked the path of the sacred yagé for years, transforming their own lives through this ancestral medicine.

Alongside the Taita and Maima, this team carefully prepares all aspects of the retreat, offers guidance and support to participants, lovingly prepares the meals, and assists in the preparation of the sacred medicine.

Their commitment is absolute: they are available day and night to support each person in their journey, ensuring a safe, harmonious, and deeply transformative experience.

Ayahuasca:

Spiritual Connection and Transformation

The Yagé or Ayahuasca is a sacred drink, used for centuries by Indigenous communities, facilitates a deep process of healing, emotional trauma release, and spiritual awakening. Guided by experienced facilitators, you will experience a transformative journey that helps you balance body, mind, and spirit.

WHAT IS AN AYAHUASCA CEREMONY?

An Ayahuasca ceremony is a deeply transformative gathering, typically held at night. In this sacred space, a group of individuals comes together under the guidance of a Taita and/or Maima, who share the ancestral medicine of Ayahuasca.

Each participant arrives with a personal purpose for healing, seeking to release emotional blockages, find clarity in their lives, or address aspects such as ailments, traumas, addictions, or illnesses.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING AN AYAHUASCA CEREMONY?

The greatest benefit of an Ayahuasca ceremony is the connection with the inner wisdom that resides within each person. Those who participate in a ceremony often experience profound insights that bring clarity and solutions to the challenges of daily life.

Additionally, the senses become heightened, leading to a deeper perception that allows participants to feel the miracle of life and the vastness of love.

As a result, after an Ayahuasca ceremony, people often find answers or solutions that help them overcome the conflicts or difficulties they face in their lives.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF AN AYAHUASCA CEREMONY?

The greatest benefit of participating in an Ayahuasca ceremony is the profound connection with the inner wisdom that resides within each individual. During this transformative experience, participants often achieve a level of understanding that allows them to find clarity and solutions to the challenges of daily life.

Moreover, Ayahuasca sharpens the senses, intensifying perception and opening the door to experiencing the miracle of life and the vastness of love. This heightened state of awareness helps participants reconnect with what is essential, fostering a sense of gratitude and fulfillment.

As a result, those who attend a ceremony often receive profound insights and practical solutions that enable them to move forward and resolve situations that previously caused conflict or stagnation in their lives.

HOW CAN I GET PREPARED FOR AN AYAHUASCA CEREMONY?

Preparing for an ayahuasca ceremony is an essential step to ensure a meaningful and transformative experience. The most important aspect is to approach the ceremony with an open heart and a genuine willingness to embrace the wisdom of the sacred yagé. Taking the step towards change and healing is a profound decision that requires courage and intention.

Here are some key recommendations to prepare:

Follow a Light Diet

On the day of the ceremony, it is best to consume light and fresh foods, such as vegetables, fruits, and liquids like soups, broths, or consommés.

Avoid Certain Substances
Refrain from consuming alcohol, cigarettes, or psychoactive substances for at least
three days before the ceremony. This helps to purify your body and mind, creating a clean slate for the experience.

Notify About Medications
If you are taking any medications for medical reasons, it is crucial to inform the ceremony facilitators or the team in charge ahead of time. They will guide you on how to proceed safely.

By following these steps, you will create the right conditions—both physically and mentally—to receive the guidance and healing that the ceremony offers.

Our guides: Guidance and Ancestral wisdom

TAITA ROBERT RAMOS

Taita Robert Ramos was raised in the jungle and has always been deeply connected to Indigenous culture.

Son of peasant parents with extensive knowledge of the jungle, his introduction to Yagé medicine began at the age of 7 when his mother brought him to Taita Luis Mutumbajoy.

At the age of 15, he took Yagé again with Taita Querubín, this marked the beginning of his connection with local tribes and the Taitas of the region, including Grandfather Querubín and Taita Nazario Muchabisoy of the Inga tribe. Taita Nazario guided him through his early steps in learning how to prepare the medicine of Ayahuasca-Yagé.

His journey of apprenticeship as a Taita lasted approximately 10 years before he was ready to offer his first cup of Yagé. Today, with over 25 years of experience, he continues sharing the Sacred Medicine in various regions of Colombia.

MAIMA ALEXANDRA ARICAPA

From her mother’s womb, the spirit of the Earth wove within her the path of the healer. As she grew, a profound connection with the Earth and its plants blossomed within her. She loved being surrounded by their aromas, colors, and shapes, and today, she is certain that everything communicates and creates.

The sacred Yagé plant entered her life through a Taita of the Inga Kamsá lineage, reaffirming her love and respect for her Embera Katio roots, which come from her father’s ancestry. Over time, she met Taita Robert Ramos, trained by elder Taitas, and alongside him, she has walked the path of learning the science and tradition of Ayahuasca-Yagé, our ancestral remedy.
